Which version do I have?
App Store copies are managed by the Mac App Store and update through it. Direct-download copies check our update feed and offer updates in-app (SnapStudio ▸ Check for Updates…).
License keys (direct download)
Buy a licence ($39.99, checkout by Lemon Squeezy) and your key arrives by email. When SnapStudio opens it asks for the key; later you can find it under SnapStudio ▸ License…. One key activates up to 3 Macs. Lost keys: email us with your purchase email and we'll resend.
AI features
Upscaling, background removal, and auto-enhance run entirely on your Mac — no setup. AI image generation and analysis are optional and use your own OpenAI/Anthropic API key (Preferences ▸ API Keys).
Using SnapStudio with AI agents
SnapStudio ships with a built-in MCP server so agent tools like Claude can create and edit documents. Register it with:

Refunds
App Store purchases: request through Apple. Direct purchases: email us within 14 days with proof of purchase and we'll arrange it.
